A Little Bit About Nool

Recently since 2006, I have been focusing on webpage designing and html, php, js, all the good stuff, so some of this information is now obsolete, enjoy my site !

I had been composing music using various trackers from 1997-2000. I remember searching for jungle on my text only search engine back in the wonderous years of Win95 and bumped into Impulse Tracker. I tried others but they didn't cut it ... in 1999 i discovered Buzz and have been using it since. Six years using one program is a good amount of time to figure out quite a bit about it. Buzz is vast enough that it allows for several degrees of learning but it is fast, so my attention deficit disorder gets placated.

So you can say that i have seen buzz grow. It has had alot of minor and major upgrades over time. But it is still refreshing in that a 4 year old concept is NOT stale at all and still growing. The concept is really quite simple, user friendly, and can be learned very quickly and easily, and quite powerful. My favorite things about it right now - Rock Solid Vst Support, Jeskola XS-1 (A Great Multisample machine), modularity, BTDSys Peer Machines, Fuzzpilz Utracker, BTDSys Samplegrid, Cyanphase Jedshiva, Joachim and Fuzzpilz's Effects (SO GREAT) and that ugly gritty barebones interface :)

In those four years, I have created alot of music. Yes alot, around 200 "completed" mp3s. If you want to hear some - check out the Music Page. I try to create tracks in multiple genres while still giving it a special nool touch. Recently, I have come across some excess free time, so expect alot of new music ! Currently, I am not signed to a label, but one day this might happen. If you are out there, hook it up! But in the meantime, creating music is a passion that i do not intend to stop anytime soon. Much like the hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean, I will never stop.

Everything on this page was made with 100% Buzz only. It is an excellent audio suite that does not get enough recognition. It is very versatile in a solely modular environment. It is the only app i use to create all of these tracks.
I have collaborated with alot of different people, and have only interacted with all of them through the internet ..... ah technology. This list through the years is quite big - Th0ke - Magmavander - Spirtcatcher - Ciro - K-Citspil - Quartz76 - Gerry Cueto - Lad Project - Lad - ShellyB - Jennyrave - Namdans - Rorschach - Airliner - Vaisnava - Shytan - B15h - Monoton - Schroder - Eltune - Phi - Khl - Hamst3r Alliance - THA - Clarion - Whitesoul - Whitebutta - Mortality - Midi Hendrix - whatever his name is currently - FBev - Fred Bevins - Techrush - Wizkid - DjLaser - C. Micali - cmicali - RomanB - Canc3r - Whitenoiz - XionD - Joachim - JoaChip - Clem - Spore - T. Wilton - Chukimai - Natasja Morales - Mike Fijal - Nadine Renee (bad samples) - Nikk - Patti Sterling - If you are interested email me here Contact Nool and we'll see what we can do

There is nothing else like Buzz on the planet. For the first time ever you have access to a powerful software-based music studio; for free. Its Modular. The true power of Buzz. Its Expandable. Buzz introduces the concept of a Machine. This can be any instrument-vsti-effect unit. Buzz is all about "pluggability" - supports several different file formats via different machines and is customizeable. It has several systems - template, preset, editing, and Several others. Its in Real-Time. Buzz moves with you. Every aspect of Buzz is built to be controlled in real-time. This means that as you tweak the resonance on a virtual analog synth, you hear it's classic sqeualching response immediately. The same goes for all DSP effects, samples, etc. It's Built for Speed. Its Portable. Its a Secret Weapon.

Equipment used:
Pentium 4 - 2.8 ghz (only recently, i had a PII 400 from 2000-2003), Buzz Digital Composer, Jeskola XS-1, all kinds of buzz gear - special thanks to the developers - ld0d, WhiteNoise, FSM, Rymix, HalDreamer, Fuzzpilz, Frequency UnKnown, Jeskola, CyanPhase, Zephod, Arguelles, Paniq, Automaton, FireSledge, Oomek, Geonik, Cheapo, Joachim, Chimp, Rout, Edexter, Dex, BTDSys, Ynzn, Climox, LeeDragon, Surfsmurf, Oskari, Polac, Mva, and everyone else - truely inspirational softwarez :) - also used are some sweet samplebanks i own

I am also a recently converted sciene junkie. These days, the science field is progressing rapidly due to technology and computers, several answers are being found to several key questions of the cosmos. Science moves fast, get updated. Yesterday's Science Fiction is now today's fact. The earth and beyond are amazing. The more one learns about nature, life, the forces - the self shrinks, brings you back down to 'earth', and really causes you to question deep within. Nature is just so perfect, destructive and yet also breath-taking at the same time. I have began to appreciate my own life more by learning more about nature and the cosmos. I invite you to do the same. Check out these links and statements.

Interview from Sept 16, 2005
1.) what are your main influences musically. what various music (and/ or circumstances) throughout your life, lead u to your current musical collection, and your current musical style.
Unconventional is the way I would describe how I go about music. I listen to and produce anything, genres always seemed to be blurred in my opinion. The Internet has played a huge part in my exposure to music. Without it, I wouldn't do what I do. I use only a computer and the same keyboard everyone else does. I guess I 'program' music more than play it ;) Trackers are my weapons of choice, although, they are too many misconceptions about trackers out there these days, especially Jeskola Buzz. With computers becoming logarithmically more powerful, there is no limit to a software environment, its much cheaper with the ever expanding vsti freeware synth scenes, and takes up less room :) I prefer 0's and 1's to pretty graphics

2.) are u playing the first instrument u learned?
Well I played the clarinet from age 11-16 but unfortunately, I never took it seriously. How's that for sexy ? Didn't get into computers until I was 19-20! Better late than never ... but damn you kids that are 7 who know more than I did at 18 :(

3.) describe the style of your band, then your personal style, and how it fits into the gears of your band's slick machinery.
Bizarre. Cutting-edge. Not sure what is next. A stream of consciousness that has no goal. Something that has a decent beat

4.) what is your opinion of today's pop music? does your band consider pop, when creating songs, or is pop NOT much of a consideration during your creation process?
The internet will eventually change it all, like any evolution, it will take time, much faster than conventional terrestrial evolution thank god ;) Copyrights watch out, your time is coming to an end ! Think about the multiplication of software devices like the iPod, mp3 players, that is the future .... throw your cds away. Think about it even some cars have mp3 players standard now. Just a matter of time before everything electronic has a removable harddrive/card. You can store 8 billion songs on something the size of your fingertip and probably smaller, how you going to stop that ? One day, maybe this will be the way in which all information flows freely, without restrictions to all conscious minds.

5.) "How Left Is Your Pop", how left is your style, when it comes to mainstream music, or is that not much of a consideration during your creation process?
So far left, it almost pops back up on the right.

6.) what are some of the short-term plans for your band or it's members?
Not too many, keep making more and more and more stuff until I drop

7.) what are some of the future goals of the band (whether near-future or just a dream)?
Waiting for either a computer chip to be implanted in my brain or for touch/thought screens/keyboards :D Maybe even one day I can hook up to a Ethernet Cable ! Info BlAsT!

8.) what's your band's base audience like
Computer freaks
thanks to mike from Popleft
