Operating System

Change compatability mode to 98-NT by right clicking on buzz.exe and flip to the compatability tab
---
Apo's machines (Cheapo amp, Do-Nothing, etc) don't work? Sure they do. Error message is: "LoadLibrary (path to fx.dll) failed." Then Buzz crashes. Fixkit.exe - > Solution as follows: Missing file "msvcr70.dll" copied into Windows/system32 directory.

Optimizing sound for WinXp
---
Have you tried lowering the latency? I had a similar problem with Sonar 2.0... I actually had the latency set too high.
---
I found that graphic animation, even moving the mouse cursor, caused an odd distortion, sort of like a weird buffer effect. Turns out my video card was too old.
---
A way to diagnose this problem is to turn on and off the screen visualizations while playing a song in media player. If it clicks more when the viz is on, you probably need a new video card.
---
Was a matter to update the motherboard chipset drivers.
---
WinXP: Still under Control Panel/System, select the Advanced tab. Click the Performance
settings button and select the Visual Effects tab. Choose “adjust for best performance”
and then select the Advanced tab. Under Processor Settings, select “adjust for best
performance of background services” to ensure lowest latency with ASIO-based drivers
(ASIO drivers run as background services in Windows)

WinXP and Buzz and a Crappy Computer = BAD, use win98 se instead
---
winXP is great for me, buzz runs perfectly, but that is on a 1.8 GHz AMD Athlon XP with 640 Mb RAM. you shouldn't even consider running winxp with 128 mb RAM. (people say 256 mb RAM is a recommended minimum for XP). It does take more power then win98. If you have that spare power, it's great, if you don't, then don't use it.

Try MusicXP
If you haven't, it has some useful tweaks (be careful though, as some people have said that these tweaks can really mess things up if you don't know what you're doing). ---
