Tick Subdivide - Explain/in which machines ?

Practically the same as secondary tempo on the old trackers.
---
Subdivides a tick (answers some of the can you zoom in/out questions) - get that groove and syncopation you know you want
---
Depending on the machine, use multiples of four, a higher number of subdivision means a finer control of tracker effects (ED 01 won't have much of a delay with tick subdivide=80 but tick subdivide=4 will be a big delay)
---
Good for effects - over note delays, portamentos, volslides, retrig, but effects all tracker commands
---
Machines that use it -
BTDSys SampleGrid
Fuzzpilz FuDrums2
Surfsmurf's Matilde Tracker
PSI Drum 2 (labeled groove)
Fuzzpilz Unwieldy Tracker (still under development)
Infector has subticks - notedelay - retrigger too - divides each tick in 12
Jeskola Tracker (but mono)
Arguru's Pro3, 4 - but buggy, one had a clicky timestretching function too
---
What does the tick divider do in the pattern window?
It's a machine specific parameter. It's practically the same as secondary tempo on the old trackers. In Buzz it doesn't affect the song speed. It affects the speed of the effects (some tracker effects execute several times per one command, like volume fade and pitch bend). When to change? If you have "slow" song (low TPB, 4, 2, etc), you could try to increase the tick subdivide to compensate the effects speed (more finer control)
---
Matilde
0F/xx - Subdivide amount
If the subdivide amount is higher, effects will be updated more often, making them run faster. The default value is 6. Some trackers, like Matilde, may have problems with higher subdivide amounts (also seen in protracker) but this is not really a big issue, and newer trackers, like SampleGrid handle ALL subdivision amounts !
---
Buzz knows nothing about subdividing; The machine can split the tick however it wants; the machine get the current position in the tick; the machine can get PosInTick and SamplesPerTick from buzz.
---
I was blown away when i noticed matilde recorded note data on subticks. I had a pattern that only showed 1 note but it was playin all kinds of notes and if i press the . (delete) button down through the pattern, I could see some of the notes start appearing. I was surprised that matilde recorded notes on subticks that you can't see
